| Valid time data and systematic planning are a must

The Sino-German Industry 4.0 Demonstration and Innovation Center and the AI Innovation Factory at the Global Advanced Manufacturing Institute (GAMI) in Suzhou were the meeting point for the latest MTM/IE regional meeting in China. 18 MTM specialists and enthusiasts from 11 companies attended the event. The focus was on the role of MTM in Industry 4.0.

The Sino-German Industry 4.0 Demonstration and Innovation Center and the AI Innovation Factory at the Global Advanced Manufacturing Institute (GAMI) in Suzhou Industrial Park were the meeting point of the recent MTM/IE regional meeting in China. 18 MTM specialists and enthusiasts from 11 companies, including Bosch Automotive Products (Suzhou) Co. Ltd, Volkswagen FAW Engine (Dalian) Co, Ltd, BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd, Sixxon Group (Kunshan), United Automotive Electronic Systems Co, Ltd, Suzhou Fortema Robot System Co. Ltd, SAIC Infineon Automotive Power Modules (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, Schaeffler Holding (China), Schneider Electric, KONE Elevators Co., Ltd. and TI Marine Contracting Co., Ltd, attended the event organized by MTM Shanghai. The focus was on the role of MTM in Industry 4.0.

Dr. Tobias Arndt, representative of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in China, chief executive of GAMI and MTM expert, presented the development work at the two institutes during a tour. The focus was on keywords such as intelligent manufacturing, software systems for semi-automated production lines, intelligent store floor management, RFID-based management, human-machine collaboration, virtual reality, scalable manufacturing, Big Data, cloud computing, real-time tracking and simulation.

In his presentation, Wei Jiang, MTM Shanghai project manager, described how the MTM software TiCon4 can also support work design in Industry 4.0. The participants engaged in a lively discussion and shared their experiences of using the software solution in practice. The conclusion: Only on the basis of valid time data and systematic planning can tools and technologies work together in such a way that the greatest possible benefit is achieved in terms of work design effectiveness, ergonomic risks, and business results.

Dr. LI Zhen, main representative of the MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. in China and head of MTM Shanghai, also attended the meeting. He elaborated on the leading role of the MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. in the One-MTM partner network and explained the benefits of this network for customers: a globally uniform training structure, standardized teaching materials, and consulting services and software solutions wherever customers are producing in the world.
