At the beginning of the development of e-learning, the question arose: MTM in self-study, i.e. without the professional support of an experienced trainer? There was a great deal of uncertainty as to whether and, if so, when this approach would lead to success. However, companies and interested parties quickly recognized the benefits of the new training format: flexibility in terms of learning pace and scheduling around day-to-day business, global availability, easy and fast booking via one platform. The other training formats also benefited from the development of the e-learning offering. Much of the content of today’s e-learning products of the MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. has also found its way into the webinars and classroom courses.
In 2020, with the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, it became clear that the decision to digitize MTM training was the right one. The experience gained with the MTM-1® Base e-learning product helped the global One-MTM network to develop webinars and another e-learning product: MTM-UAS®. MTM-1® Base (e-learning) is now available in German, English, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish, MTM-UAS® (e-learning) in German and English. More MTM systems and languages will follow.
Between 2019 and 2021, the teams of the MTM Institute and the MTM Academy were able to gain a lot of experience in the operation of the existing MTM-1® Base (e-learning) training course and also in the development of the first company-specific e-learning products (Daimler AG, Audi AG). This experience led to a new concept for the MTM-UAS® (e-learning) training program, which was published in 2021. To date, 1,500 successfully completed MTM-1® Base e-learning courses worldwide are the best proof that the MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. has taken the right path with the digitization of training.
